Exhaust systems
Exhaust systems - High-performance have one focus, more air out to eliminate backpressure. They do this by using tubing that is larger than the stock parts. These exhaust systems use high-flow mufflers, massive tail pipes, and large headers.
By upgrading the exhaust system, which replaces the stock exhaust from the headers to the tailpipe, you will notice a spectacular boost in power.
The simpler rout is a cat-back system that replaces the catalytic converter to the tail pipe. Installing your own cat-back system usually involves cutting the old pipe even if the new on is bolt on.
Cat-Back system
Performance Boost: 15-20 horsepower
Supplementary Modifications: Headers, high-flow muffler
Note: Replacing of headers and mufflers will give an additional boost of performance. All these changes usually increase your fuel economy.
